OpenDNS offers two free nameserver IP addresses for Family Shield. These servers filter out unwanted content to keep users, especially children, safe online. To obtain the nameserver IPs, follow these steps:
- Visit the OpenDNS website.
- Select the “Consumer” option.
- Scroll down to find “OpenDNS Family Shield.”
- Click the “Setup Guide” button.
- You will find the two nameserver IPs:
67.222.123
and208.67.220.123
.
These IP addresses will be used as the DNS servers in your MikroTik router.
Step 2: Assign OpenDNS Family Shield IPs to MikroTik DHCP Networks
Now, assign these Family Shield IPs to the DHCP network in your MikroTik router, which manages the IP addresses and DNS servers assigned to connected devices.
Follow these steps:
- Log in to MikroTik RouterOS using Winbox.
- Navigate to IP > DHCP Server.
- In the DHCP Server window, go to the Networks tab.
